4/11/08Women's Tennis Closes Out Season With 9-0 Rout Of Salve Regina The Babson women's tennis team closed out its 2007-08 season with a convincing 9-0 victory over visiting Salve Regina University on Friday evening, as the Beavers lost just five games in singles play and only 11 overall. With the win, Babson finished the year with a stellar record of 15-8. After being honored prior to the contest, senior co-captain Jamie Burke celebrated her final collegiate match with two wins. In doubles play, she teamed with sophomore Liz Sheerin on an 8-4 victory at number three, and she followed that up with a dominating 6-1, 6-0 win at number six singles. [+]
4/5/08Women's Tennis Downs Hamilton, 5-3, At Wellesley Invitational Sophomore Lorena Becerra rallied from an opening set defeat to post the decisive victory as the Babson women's tennis team defeated visiting Hamilton College, 5-3, in a non-conference match as part of the Wellesley Invitational on Saturday. The Beavers (14-8) claimed doubles wins at both two and three and then received singles victories from sophomore Jess Huang at number three, senior co-captain Jamie Burke at six, and Becerra at four. 4/4/08Connecticut College Slips Past Women's Tennis, 5-4 The Babson women's tennis team lost a close match with Connecticut College, 5-4, as part of the Wellesley Invitational on Friday night. The Beavers' lone point in doubles play came at number one, where sophomore Jessica Huang and junior co-captain Kali Hogan claimed an 8-4 victory. Babson then posted three wins in singles competition, including a 6-4, 1-6, (11-9) superbreaker win by junior Heather Walsh at two, a 6-4, 6-2 victory by Huang at three, and an 8-4 one-set win by sophomore Lorena Becerra at four.
