BABSON PARK, Mass. - Babson junior midfielder Jackie Godfrey was named NEWMAC Women's Lacrosse Player of the Week on Monday after helping lead the Beavers to their second straight conference championship and NCAA Tournament berth. She is the fifth Babson player to earn the award this season, joining teammates Anna Collins, Anita Martignetti, Kaitlyn Pettengill, and Sarah Macary. In two games, Godfrey totaled eight goals and three assists for a team-high 11 points while also leading the squad with seven draw controls and five caused turnovers. She recorded five goals, one assist, three groundballs, and four caused turnovers in Babson's 14-6 win over fifth-seeded MIT in Saturday's semifinal round, and then added three goals, including the game-winner, to go along with two assists and five draw controls in the Beavers' 18-2 victory over third-seeded Wellesley in Sunday's Championship Game. For the year, Godfrey now has 35 goals and a team-high 23 assists for 58 points. She also leads the squad with 47 groundballs and 29 caused turnovers while ranking second with 42 draw controls. Babson will head to Connecticut to face Trinity in the First Round of the NCAA Tourney this Wednesday at 5 p.m.
