         <description><![CDATA[The Eastern College Athletic Conference recently announced its Division III All-Star Team, and Babson senior back Michele Farley garnered Second Team honors. Already a NEWMAC and NFHCA All-New England East First Team selection, Farley earned All-ECAC Second Team honors after a career year this fall. She started all 21 games on defense and ranked second on the team in scoring with nine goals and seven assists for 25 points - all career highs. She also led the Beavers with three game-winning goals as well as a team-high three defensive saves.]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[The final postseason awards for field hockey have been announced, and Babson senior tri-captains Michele Farley and Brittany Stevens headed the Beavers' list of honorees with both league and regional recognition. Both were selected to the NEWMAC All-Conference First Team and the NFHCA New England East All-Region First Team after helping the Beavers become the first women's squad in school history to begin the season 0-4 and then win their regular season conference title. Sophomore Jess Paladino and first-year Sarah Fredlund garnered All-NEWMAC Second Team honors, while sophomores Emily Cohen and Alyssa L'Bassi were named to the Academic All-Conference squad.]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[Babson College first-year Colleen Kelly continued her outstanding rookie season with her first-ever NEWMAC Field Hockey Player of the Week selection on Monday. Kelly received the honor after bolstering a defensive unit that posted back-to-back shutouts for the Beavers. Kelly and the Babson backfield held Wellesley's high-powered offense scoreless in the regular season finale on Tuesday night, as Babson won in overtime, 1-0. The rookie back then helped the top-seeded Beavers blank eighth-seeded MIT, 4-0, in the NEWMAC Quarterfinals on Saturday, as Babson allowed just two shots. The Beavers will now host fourth-seeded Springfield in the semifinals on Saturday at noon, with the winner advancing to Sunday's championship game at 1 p.m.]]></description>

With the win, the Beavers completed the program's first-ever sweep of the NEWMAC, as they finished the regular season at 13-6 overall and 8-0 in the conference. As a result, they earned their second regular season NEWMAC title in three years and will enter next week's conference tournament as the top seed. They will host eighth-seeded MIT in the quarterfinals this Saturday at 1 p.m. and, with a victory in that game, would host both the semifinals and finals the following weekend.]]></description>
