Poulson Heads List Of Women's Basketball Postseason Honorees

 
 


Linsey Poulson '08 received dual honors from the NEWMAC this week.

BABSON PARK, Mass. - Four Babson women's basketball players received honors when the NEWMAC announced its postseason awards this week. Leading the way was senior forward Linsey Poulson (Leominster, Mass.), who was named to both the All-Conference Second Team and the Academic All-Conference Team.

Poulson was Babson's most consistent performer in 2007-08, ranking second on the team with 11.8 points and 8.3 rebounds per game while finishing third with 1.23 steals per outing. She ranked seventh in the league in rebounding and eighth in field goal percentage, hitting 45.4 percent of her attempts from the field. The senior forward posted a team-high seven double-doubles on the season, and was named to the All-Tournament Team at the Babson Invitational presented by Irving Oil.

Joining Poulson on the NEWMAC Academic All-Conference Team were senior Caitlin Fenn (Niantic, Conn.), junior Leigh Myer (Seattle, Wash.), and junior Becky Pelletier (Harwinton, Conn.), who all excelled in the classroom and on the court this winter. Fenn played in all 26 contests and led the Beavers with 12.0 points and 2.12 steals per game while also contributing 3.9 rebounds and 1.7 assists. Myer appeared in 18 games and averaged 1.9 points per game, and Pelletier tossed in 1.7 points per outing while playing in 23 contests.
