Lynch, Necklas Head List Of Award Winners At 27th Annual Senior Athletics Banquet
The Babson College Athletics Department held its 27th Annual Senior Awards Banquet on Sunday night, where a total of seven student-athletes were honored. Women's soccer and Swimming and Diving senior Meg Lynch was named Female Athlete of the Class, while men's soccer senior Chris Necklas was selected as the Male Athlete of the Class. Softball senior Jess Byrn and baseball senior Matt Delaney were named the Scholar-Athletes of the Class, and track and field senior Dan Cowan took home the Michael J. Conlon Award. In addition to the senior awards, President Brian M. Barefoot '66 P'01 and his wife Pam Barefoot P'01 were the recipients of the prestigious Paul C. Staake Award for outstanding contributions to Babson Athletics, while a pair of first-year athletes were also honored. Women's soccer, basketball, and lacrosse first-year Kristy Benoit received the Lori Vengrow Award, and baseball freshman Andrew Aizenstadt claimed the Colin "Chip" Brown Award. [+]

Poulson Heads List Of Women's Basketball Postseason Honorees
Four Babson women's basketball players received honors when the NEWMAC announced its postseason awards this week. Leading the way was senior forward Linsey Poulson, who was named to both the All-Conference Second Team and the Academic All-Conference Team. Babson's most consistent performer in 2007-08, Poulson ranked second on the team with 11.8 points and 8.3 rebounds per game while finishing third with 1.23 steals per outing. She ranked seventh in the league in rebounding and eighth in field goal percentage, hitting 45.4 percent of her attempts from the field. She was joined on the Academic All-Conference Team by senior Caitlin Fenn, junior Leigh Myer, and junior Becky Pelletier, who all excelled in the classroom and on the court this winter. [+]

Women's Hoops Ousted By WPI, 50-41, in NEWMAC Quarterfinals
The Babson women's basketball team saw its season come to a close on Wednesday night, as the Beavers fell to host WPI, 50-41, in the quarterfinals of the NEWMAC Tournament. Senior Caitlin Fenn paced the Beavers with 12 points and six steals in her final collegiate game, while junior Leigh Myer added 10 points. Vanessa Lovering pulled down a team-best six boards for the Beavers, who close out their 2007-08 campaign with a record of 12-14. [+]
