Men's Tennis Falls To NYU, 8-1, At Middlebury

MIDDLEBURY, Vt. - The Babson men's tennis team lost its first match of the weekend at Middlebury College on Friday, falling to to Upstate Region powerhouse NYU by a score of 8-1.

Babson's lone victory came at number one doubles, where the sophomore tandem of Alex Kamergorodsky and Brian Lafayette defeated NYU's duo of Mikhail Gurevich and Craig Berger, 8-2. Kamergorodsky also played well at first singles, where he lost a thriller to Gurevich in a third-set tie-breaker, 6-2, 2-6, 6-7 (7-9). Lafayette also went three sets in defeat at number four singles, while senior Ben Edick did the same at numebr two.

The Beavers will complete their weekend competition when they take on Union on Saturday at 2:30 p.m.
