OXFORD, Ohio - Sophomore diver Aaron Paradis (Norwich, Conn.) became the first male Babson College diver in more than two decades to compete at nationals on Thursday, as he placed 18th in the 1-meter event at the 2008 NCAA Division III Men's Swimming and Diving Championships at the University of Miami-Ohio. Babson's first male diver to compete at nationals since All-American Paul Cuneo '85 made the trip in the mid-1980s, Paradis posted a total score of 353.60 in the preliminary round of the 1-meter event. That placed him two spots shy of qualifying for the evening finals and 18th overall. A total of 22 divers participated in the event. Paradis, who was named 2007 NEWMAC Diver of the Year after winning both the 1-meter and 3-meter conference championships as a freshman, will next compete in the 3-meter event at nationals on Saturday.
