         <description><![CDATA[Sophomore diver Aaron Paradis became the first male Babson College diver in more than two decades to compete at nationals on Thursday, as he placed 18th in the 1-meter event at the 2008 NCAA Division III Men's Swimming and Diving Championships at the University of Miami-Ohio. Paradis posted a total score of 353.60 in the preliminary round of the 1-meter event, placing him two spots shy of qualifying for the evening finals and 18th overall. A total of 22 divers participated in the event.]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[Babson sophomore diver Aaron Paradis made history on Friday, as he was selected to compete in the 2008 NCAA Division III National Championships for the first time in his young career. He will compete in the 1-meter event on March 20 and the 3-meter event on March 21 and 22. Both competitions will be held at the University of Miami-Ohio. Named the 2007 NEWMAC Diver of the Year after winning both the 1-meter and 3-meter events as a freshman, Paradis placed third off both boards at the conference championships this winter. That capped off a brilliant sophomore campaign in which he swept both diving events in every one of Babson's dual meets while qualifying for selection to nationals on multiple occasions.]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[Babson College finished seventh overall at the 2008 NEWMAC Men's Swimming and Diving Championships at MIT on Sunday. Highlighting the third and final day of competition for the Beavers were sophomores Ted Plaisted and Aaron Paradis, who each recorded third-place finishes. One day after posting an eighth-place finish in the 100 backstroke, Plaisted was even better in the 200 back, coming in third overall with a time of 1:58.33. Plaisted also had anchored the Beavers' 400 free relay team, as he teamed up with junior captain Philippe Noelting, first-year Sam Wear, and junior Thayer Glassock to finish sixth overall in 3:21.60. Joining Plaisted with a top-three finish was classmate Paradis, who followed up Friday's third-place effort in the 1-meter diving event with another third-place showing off the 3-meter board. Last year's NEWMAC Diver of the Year was once again edged out by a pair of Springfield divers, despite a spectacular score of 504.85 in the finals.]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[The Babson men's swimming and diving team completed day two of the 2008 NEWMAC Championships at MIT on Saturday, where the Beavers stood in seventh place with one day of competition remaining. Leading a host of Babson performers with personal bests were sophomore Ted Plaisted, junior captain Philippe Noelting, and junior Thayer Glassock, who each finished in the top 15 of their respective individual events. Plaisted qualified for the finals and finished eighth overall in the 100 backstroke with a time of 55.04, while Noelting finished second in the consolation and 10th overall in the 100 back with a time of 55.71. Glasscock represented Babson in the 400 IM, where he placed 12th overall in 4:35.52.]]></description>

Babson defeated Elms, 68-25, but lost to WPI, 86-41. Paradis won both diving events, including another outstanding performance off the 1-meter board. By meeting the NCAA Championship standard for the second time this season, he qualified for selection to nationals this coming March.
