May 2, 2008

BABSON PARK, Mass. - Babson College men's soccer seniors Chris Necklas (Guilford, Conn.) and Chris Schwartz (Guilford, Conn.) were recently selected to compete in the New England Intercollegiate Soccer League (NEISL) Senior All-Star game. The contest will be played at Clark University tomorrow (Saturday) afternoon at 3:00 p.m.

The NEISL All-Star Game is a fitting end for Babson's two seniors, who have played together for the last eight years. After four years at Guilford High, the duo has led Babson to a spectacular record of 52-22-10 (.879), including a 16-5-1 mark and the program's 18th NCAA Tournament bid in 2004.

Individually, both Necklas and Schwartz have distinguished themselves among the region's elite players during their collegiate careers. In 81 games in net, Necklas posted a 50-21-10 record, a 0.88 GAA and a .796 save percentage while recording 38 shutouts. He was named Second Team All-Conference in 2005, First Team All-Conference and Second Team All-New England in 2006, and First-Team All-Conference and Third Team All-New England in 2007.

Schwartz played 79 career games in the midfield for Babson, totaling seven goals and 12 assists for 26 points, including two game-winning scores. He was named First Team All-NEWMAC and Third Team All-New England in each of the last two seasons.
