BABSON PARK, Mass. - The Babson College baseball team saw five players receive New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) postseason honors this week, highlighted by first-year pitcher Andrew Aizenstadt (Norwell, Mass.), who was named All-Conference First Team and the NEWMAC Rookie of the Year.

Joining Aizenstadt on the All-NEWMAC First Team were seniors Matt Delaney (Newton, Mass.) and Steve Tahmoush (Arlington, Mass.), while sophomore Dave Ahern (Bedford, Mass.) garnered Second Team honors. Rounding out the Beavers' list of award winners was senior Robbie Leer (Edina, Minn.), who was named to the NEWMAC Academic All-Conference Team.

Aizenstadt was sensational in his rookie season, going 5-1 with a 2.82 ERA. He allowed just 37 hits and 16 earned runs while striking out 36 strikeouts in 51 innings while also tossing a one-hit shutout against WPI.

Delaney turned in a spectacular senior campaign, batting .377 with 60 hits, 16 doubles, one triple, four homers, 36 runs scored, and 37 RBIs in 40 games. With four hits in the team's season-ending doubleheader against Tufts, he became Babson's new all-time leader with 199 hits in his career.

Tahmoush was also brilliant this spring, hitting .373 with team-highs of 62 hits, three triples, five homers, 47 runs, and 21 stolen bases. He also recorded six doubles and 30 RBIs while posting a .986 fielding percentage in Babson's notoriously difficult right field. He will graduate as Babson's all-time leader with 55 stolen bases.

Ahern earned conference honors for the first time in his young career after a stellar year both on the mound and at the plate. Offensively, he batted .356 with six doubles, a triple, two home runs, 34 runs scored, and 33 RBIs while stealing 10 bases. On the mound, he went 1-1, including a win over nationall-ranked Wheaton in his first collegiate start, while posting a team-high three saves.

Leer earned Academic All-Conference recognition after a solid senior season in which he played in 27 games, hitting .313 with seven doubles, two homers, 22 runs, and 16 RBIs.
