FORT MYERS, Fla. - The Babson College baseball team improved to 5-2 on its spring break trip to Fort Myers on Monday, as the Beavers upended Nichols College, 12-5, in a non-conference contest.

Senior pitcher Jon Igoe picked up his first win of the season with seven strong innings, giving up five runs - all of which were unearned thanks to four Beaver errors - on six hits. Sophomore Zach Rubin came on in relief of Igoe and pitched two scoreless innings.

Senior Robbie Leer anchored the Babson offense with four hits, two runs scored, and three RBIs in the five at-bats. Senior Steve Tahmoush went 3-for-5 with a run and two driven in, while seniors Andrew Nodine and Matt Delaney each added two hits.

Nichols plated three runs in the top of the third to take a 3-2 lead, but the Beavers answered with five runs in the bottom of the inning to move in front for good, 7-3. Babson tacked on another run in the fourth, three in the sixth, and one more in the seventh to cruise to the eventual 12-5 win. The Beavers outhit the Bison, 14-6, in the contest.
