NORTHAMPTON, Mass. - The Babson College cross-country teams ran at the 2007 NEWMAC Championships at Smith College on Saturday, where the men placed seventh overall and the women took 10th. Senior captain Claudia Schulz (Weston, Fla.) led the women's team with a 17th-place finish, as she completed the grueling 5k course in 20:08. She was followed by sophomore Kim Luu (Skokie, Ill.), who came in 71st with a run of 22:32, and junior Alison Sullivan (Tyngsboro, Mass.), who ran one of her best races of the year to place 80th in 22:55.Sophomore Kristen Lang (Kennebunk, Maine) checked in at 87th with a time of 23:08, followed by senior Ingrid Miller (Edina, Minn.) in 112th in 24:45, first-year Lauryn Sherman (San Diego, Calif.), first-year Larina Kleynerman in 125th in 26:19, and sophomore Alisha Wilsnack (Fairfield, Conn.) in 129th in 27:01. Junior co-captain Greg Keshian (North Andover, Mass.) once again anchored the men's lineup, as he ran a solid 27:44 to place 31st overall. First-year Andy O'Brien (Wolfeboro, N.H.) performed well in his first conference championship, placing 46th in 28:30, and senior Pat Socorro (New York, N.Y.) ran one of the best races of his Babson career by taking 66th with a time of 29:49. In addition to O'Brien, the Beavers had several other strong efforts from its first-year class, as Dan Bonsoms (San Diego, Calif.) finished 81st, Jared Bartlett (Penfield, N.Y.) placed 92nd, Mikita Kourtchikov (Brooklyn, N.Y.) came in 95th, and Ryan Cornelius (Franklin, Mass.) finished 97th.
