May 18, 2007 ONEONTA, N.Y. - Two more Babson College athletes competed on day two of the 2007 ECAC Track and Field Championships at SUNY Oneonta on Friday -- the final day of competition for the 2006-07 season. First-year Lauren Blackburn made her ECAC debut in the 400 meter intermediate hurdles, while fellow first-year Charlie Brown did the same in the long jump. Blackburn finished 15th overall in the 400 hurdles, checking in with a time of 1:08.08. It was her fifth fastest mark of the season in the event, and the fifth fastest in school history. The Beavers' all-time record holder in the 400 IH, Blackburn now holds the six fastest times ever recorded in the event by a Babson female. Like Blackburn, Brown turned in a stellar showing in his first ECAC Championship appearance, as he finished 13th overall in the long jump. His leap of 19 feet, 10 1/4 inches was his third longest of the season and the third longest in program history. Already the Beavers' all-time record holder in the event, he now has the three longest jumps and four of the top five leaps in Babson history. A total of four athletes represented Babson at the ECAC meet, with juniors Nadine Lussier and Dan Cowan competing on Thursday. Lussier placed 12th overall in the javelin with a throw of 103 feet, 2 inches in her first ECAC Championship appearance, while Cowan placed 15th overall in the 110 meter high hurdles with a time of 16.88 seconds in his second trip to the ECACs in as many years.
