May 18, 2007 ONEONTA, N.Y. - Juniors Nadine Lussier and Dan Cowan each represented Babson College on day one of the 2007 ECAC Track and Field Championships at SUNY Oneonta on Thursday. Lussier competed in the javlin event, while Cowan raced in the 110 meter high hurdles. Competing in her first ECAC Championship, Lussier placed 12th overall in the javelin. Her throw of 103 feet, 2 inches was just one inch shy of 11th place, held by Joanna Swartz of Gettysburg. Babson's all-time record holder in the event, Lussier owns the top six throws in school history after just one season of competition in the Green and White. Making his second straight trip to the ECAC Championships, Cowan placed 15th overall in the 110 meter high hurdles with a time of 16.88 seconds. Like Lussier, he is the school's record holder in the event, and he owns the top 13 times ever recorded by a Babson hurdler. An All-ECAC honoree as a sophomore, Cowan is the first male in Babson track and field history to qualify for the ECAC Championships in multiple seasons. Two more Babson athletes will compete when the event concludes on Friday. First-year Lauren Blackburn will race in the 400 meter intermediate hurdles, while fellow first-year Charlie Brown will compete in the long jump.
